D & H Auto Parts has terrible customer service!

Company President: ABRAHAM HWANG 2374 HIGHWOOD CT AURORA IL 60503

I recently ordered a fender from D & H Auto parts because of this pledge on their website:

Buying from D&H is fast, easy and safe as all of our parts are fully guaranteed or your money back. No exceptions.

They supposedly offered paint service and I paid for it.  However the fender arrived unpainted.  When I complained and requested a refund, they acted like they could care less and that it happened all the time.  They offered to refund my money for the paint service but would not pay to return the fender and send out a correct order even though they admitted the mistake was theirs.

I don't think this is very good customer service....if you agree please email
Jason Cutler General Manager  jcutler@dnhautoparts.com and let him know.

You can also email the Austin Smith (vice president of D & H autoparts) at asmith@dnhautoparts.com

Have You ever heard of D&H Auto Parts on 544 S State Route 59 Naperville, IL 60540-0915?- If so, don‘t buy anything from them via Ebay, telephone, nowhere. This company shipped a damaged hood to a body shop, in a box with no visible signs of damage WHATSOEVER, then said it was damaged during shipping and refused to do an exchange or refund simply because the hood sat in the body shop for more than 30 days. What body shop does work in shifts, without having all of the parts to do a major repair, and what body shop opens up a package upon delivery if the box doesn’t look damaged? Due to an error on their part with the shipping address, as in they sent the hood to a HOME address instead of the body shop, the salesperson, TYLER, was told that the hood would be sitting for several weeks while other parts for the car were found. The salesperson TYLER did not mention that returns would not be granted after 2 days, partial refunds after 14 days, and no refunds would be given after 30 days. When the call was made to customer service a rep/saleman AUSTIN, who could care less, passed the buck. The buck was passed several times before this email was sent. Mind you, $270 for a used hood, not new as advertised, that was damaged beyond repair or use. No visible damage to the shipping box which means D&H Auto Parts sent a used, damage hood, one that was advertised as new, and now they are screwing the buyer. Here is the copy of the email. How about sending these guys a few thousand emails to ask why they hell they ripped off a hard-working American worker who bought a product from an American mom-n-pop company?

I literally just got off the phone with them. Ordered a fender a week ago and they called this morning to let me know they don’t even have the part and I would be getting a full refund. HOW CAN YOU SELL A PART YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE?! I called last week and they said I would be able to have it by the end of this week. I also noticed they have an eBay listing with this exact part. Once again, how can you sell a part without having it in stock. Do they just hope they somehow get these parts in before selling them? Not happy.
Oh, and they called yesterday morning saying they didn’t have the “Ford F-250″ part I had ordered. My car is a Lexus. They probably do this sort of thing all the time and accidentally named off the wrong part.

fuck d&h all they care about is getting your money. ten minutes after you hang up the phone its nothing but bullshit!!!

Hey, Thanks for the info on D&H auto parts………I am shopping for for a jeep fender and found them to have the cheapest price on the net with shipping included. I filled out the order form and was just about to input my credit card info and thought I should do a blog search on the company first. Need I say More……”NO SALE”

Good to know that those jackals won’t be taking advantage of yet another honest american. Boycott the schmucks at D&H Auto Parts.

Oh boy I wished that I had found this before trying to deal with D & H Autoparts. They are real rip off artists. They first off sent an incorrect part. It took me weeks not days to receive the correct part. They really made it seem like I was the one at fault. Then less than 2 months later the radiator began splitting at the seams. The only way that I can get my money back is to purchase another substandard part from them and send the damaged one in the original box for a prorated refund. My complaints have fallen on deaf ears. Mr. Austin Smith. What shady characters these people are. There is nobody to answer any questions. Believe me when they tell you something is a rarity it is far from the truth.
****************************************************************************************************
Total idiots at that place. I’ve had so many people comment on how stupid they were. I’m glad you didn’t buy from them.

 D&H should be embarrassed
The part I ordered came in a box with uneven sides and taped excessively to prevent it from ripping open. It was a joke, and what was inside was even worse. My part was crunched and twisted to make it fit into a box that was already not the correct shape. Think Christmas wrapping paper shoved into a random opened toy box. I wanted to give them the chance to correct their obvious mistake so I gave them a call. The boy who answered the phone said there is nothing he could do and 'would not' let me talk to customer service or anyone else for that matter. I live in Chicago and he said I would have to call back sometime the fallowing week and I would have to know the mountain time when I called because they are based out of Utah. So I would have to buy a new box because the one sent would not make it through a postal service, and pay postage to Utah? No thanks. Regardless of the factD&H personally drove my package from here in the suburbs of Chicago! I was even willing to drive it back to them and get my actual part and not this wad of plastic. But that would not be possible because they are "based out of Utah"? D&H please, lets be honest, you should be embarrassed about this and glad I can't post pictures

I too am being ripped off by this company.  I ordered a part for my Volvo C70, and was shipped a part for a Volvo S70, D&H had advertised the part as being for my car, but it's a completely different shape/fitment.  I've tried contacting them many times and they always come up with some excuse, or document they need before they can refund my purchase of $400.  Even though I've already provided clear evidence of their part misrepresentation.

I dug a little further and discovered that D&H is just a DBA (doing business as) name for NEPKA, Inc.  You can find their infomation by searching "NEPKA" at the following address:

It turns out this company already has an "F" rating from the Chicago area Better Business Bureau.

So, the only option I found is to file a complaint with the Illinois State Attorney's Consumer Fraud Bureau.  Maybe you could file a complaint along with your evidence as well ... the more complaints the better--more likely to be acted on.  I just sent in my complaint and documentation/photos yesterday.  You can find the complaint form and instructions at:

I would include both NEPKA, Inc. and their DBA of D&H Auto Parts as the "Name of Seller" on the form.

Hope this helps, for your sake and mine!

My wife ordered a tailgate on line.  The tailgate arrived, and we soon found that Toyota makes two different tailgates, one for double cab and one for extended or single cab.  D&H auto parts website said the tailgate was for a 2001-2005 Toyota Tundra standard bed.  Upon contacting D&H the first person we spoke with was not aware of this either, and quicly fixed the website.
These excuses led my wife and I to cease contact with Mr. Smith and recommend to everyone to stay away from D&H auto parts.  There are far too many auto parts retailers both on line and locally to hassle with this company and their poor business practices.

Our records show that this part was shipped and delivered over 34 days ago. As stated in our listing we do require that our customers let us know of any problems within 2 business days, and at minimum 2 weeks as the options become more limited as time passes. Once over 21 days, it becomes impossible for us to even open a claim with FedEx. We pay a good amount to insure these packages to protect you the customer and us the supplier. However, there is a time limit. Otherwise, FedEx becomes concerned that the items in the packages would have been tampered with or damaged after the product was delivered and they become more hesitant to take responsibility for the damaged item.

Unfortunately there is not much we can do at this point. We can try to offer a discount on a replacement if that might work for you. This discount isn’t very much because normally we can just open a claim with the shipping company and be fully compensated for the shipment of a replacement part. We can offer you a $30 discount on a replacement. I apologize about the limited options.

    Thank you for you patience.

  6. I ordered a painted hood for Honda Civic 2004 sedan from H & D auto parts, but received a hood for Honda Civic 2004 hatchback. The hood itself was terribly painted with pinholes, small bubbles, craters on the entire surface and drips near the perforations.
I shipped the hood back and after much hassle was able to get the total amount back through my credit card company only. H & D auto parts were refusing to reimburse the complete amount, let alone rather substantial shipping costs, which were never reimbursed.
I will NEVER EVER again deal with this company, and DO NOT recommend them to anybody else.
Avoid dealing with them altogether as these guys are very unprofessional, negligent and simply unconscionable.
Shame on the state of Illinois that lets them do their dishonest business and doesn't revoke their license.

  8. I ordered a fender from this company using the choices they provided on their Amazon.com order form. When the fender arrived it was a different color shade than I had expected. When I contacted the company to let them know that the fender that was delivered was the wrong shade of Gray, they told me I could send them back the fender and they would credit $91.00 of the $211.00 that I paid because even though they only provide one color shade choice for Gray on their menu, I should have known that it was not going to be the correct color. I asked them to please exchange the fender they sent me for the correct color. They refused and continued to tell me that it was my fault for ordering the wrong color. I told them that their order form leads the customer to believe that there is only one color choice for the make, model and year of my car. They reiterated that I should have known it was the wrong color. I politely reminded them that their business specializes in providing painted auto parts to consumers, and that I had discovered that their real website located at:
http://www.dnhautoparts.com/fenders.html?id=6&category=%3F&make=21&model=113&year=1598 allows inputs for the Make, Model, vehicle number and an exact color code for the paint color. This information apparently comes from a sticker inside the car. I did not know this information when ordering from their Amazon.com order form. The amazon.com order form did not provide any fields to input any such information. I was only allowed to select the Year, Make, Model, and a single color of Gray. I thought there was only one color Gray. I did not learn that there were other colors of Gray or my car until I received the fender they sent me. They told me over the phone that they know that their amazon.com order form does not provide all available choices but that it was still my fault, and that I should have known that the one color of gray was not going to be the right one. I cannot do anything with the color fender that they sent me. My only choice is to try to take the fender they sent me to a paint shop, which is going to cost me an additional $169.00 to have repainted. I have D&H Auto Parts to please let me exchange it or return it for a refund. They flatly refuse. I feel like I have been robbed. I have also found out from searching around that I am not their only victim. You can read more complaints here: http://dhautoparts.blogspot.com/2010/11/d-h-auto-parts-has-terrible-customer.html. I feel a class action suit is in order for this company. Anyone else agree?
